August Burns Red: 20 Year Anniversary

The National (Richmond, VA)
05/06/23

Staple melodic metalcore band August Burns Red celebrated 20 years of being a band by hitting the road for a month-long North American tour with fellow metal bands The Devil Wears Prada and Bleed From Within. August Burns Red hasn’t slowed down even after 20 years, releasing their 10th full-length album, Death Below, just a few weeks before beginning the tour.

The final week of the tour starts off with a stop at The National in Richmond, Virginia. Vocalist Jake Luhrs bursts onto stage kicking off the show with “Fault Line” from Rescue & Restore, the 6th full-length from ABR. The set consisted of select songs from nearly all of their albums, giving the sold out crowd the full August Burns Red experience. Concluding a night of circle pits and crowd surfing, the band came back onstage to perform two fan favorites: “Mariana’s Trench” and “Composure.” While the band didn’t perform any songs from their newest release, we hope that indicates more touring in the near future!
