Vista Kicks: Last Show Ever

Vista Kicks

The Fonda Theatre (Los Angeles, CA)
02/17/23

On February 17th, hundreds of fans lined the streets of Hollywood Boulevard to see Vista Kicks perform their last show ever at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Following the end of their tour supporting rock band Larkin Poe, the band has decided to separate to work on solo projects. Originally from Roseville, CA, a small town outside of Sacramento, the now L.A.-based rock band consists of lifelong friends Trevor Sutton, Derek Richard Thomas, and Nolan Le Vine. The sister duo Victoria and Makayla Wymer from Oregon, who also make up the duo Hail Maries, joined the band in 2022.

The night kicked off with the unique folk vocals of Scout LaRue Willis, whose voice commanded the attention of the audience. Up next was the eclectic sound of SWIMM, an alternative-indie band originating from Florida, who helped pump everyone up in preparation for Vista Kicks.

When Vista Kicks finally took to the stage, screams immediately erupted from the crowd. Excited fans danced their way through the general admission area of the venue, as well as behind the seats on the balcony. To the thrill of the audience, the setlist contained both recent releases and songs from older projects, such as “Twenty Something Nightmare” and “Chasing Waves,” giving longtime fans the perfect hint of nostalgia as the band played their last ever show. Die-hard fans screamed touching phrases such as, “You saved my life,” and “I love you,” during the breaks in the set. The band members interacted heavily with the audience throughout their entire set and were extremely grateful, thanking the crowd between songs for their endless support over the years. The perfectly harmonized vocals of Vista Kicks will be heavily missed by their fanbase.
