The band blends multiple genres into one in order to create their own unique sound. Picture: a cake with alternative-pop filling and psychedelic-funk icing, covered in rainbow sprinkles.

The band filled up Thunderbird Café & Music Hall on a cold Monday night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Fans, new and old, gathered in the venue to dance and enjoy their favorite songs. Magic City Hippies and their touring band consists of Robby Hunter as the lead vocalist and guitarist, Jake Pinto on keys and guitar, Harry Terrell on drums, Guillermo Belisario on bass, and John Coughlin on guitar. The band interacts with each other during the entire set, coming together for guitar solos and hyping each other up throughout the show. There’s even a moment when John is playing a soft guitar solo with the spotlight on him, and Jake sits down to play along; you can feel the connection between the two, and ultimately the connection between all of them to create a beautiful show.

A perfect mix of the band’s debut album, Modern Animal, and most recent album, Water Your Garden, were played, creating the perfect set of tunes to get new fans invested and also satisfy their day one fans. Towards the middle of the set, Robby even hops down into the crowd to sing along with the front row. Magic City Hippies’ shows are like a wholesome party, and you won’t want to miss them on the remainder of their tour on the West Coast!
