Joywave: supporting Two Door Cinema Club

The National (Richmond, VA)
02/25/2024

Pop band Joywave performed in Richmond, Virginia at The National in support of Two Door Cinema Club at the end of February. The band performed just over a year ago at the same venue with I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME, and Richmond has been eagerly anticipating their return since. From Rochester, New York, Joywave has been winning crowds over since 2010 with their energizing live performance. Vocalist Daniel Armbruster moves constantly around the stage, engaging with the entire crowd as guitarist Joseph Morinelli and drummer Paul Brenner carry their sides of the stage. Joywave performed songs from 2020 album Possession, 2022 album Cleanse, and many singles including “Dangerous,” a fan favorite written by Daniel originally for Big Data that has become what Joywave is known for. The band performed their newest release, a single entitled, “Brain Damage,” which will be on their not-yet-announced upcoming album. Daniel also let the crowd in on a secret that Joywave will return to Richmond later this year, and we already can’t wait!
