Holly Humberstone: The Holly Humberstone Show

The Bellweather (Los Angeles, CA)
05/23/24

On May 23rd, U.K.-based singer-songwriter Holly Humberstone brought “The Holly Humberstone Show” to The Bellwether in Los Angeles, California. After signing with Interscope in 2021 and opening for Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour Tour in 2022, it was obvious that Humberstone was destined to make an impact in the music industry. Her debut album, Paint My Bedroom Black, has strong vocals, catchy melodies, and emotional rawness and was met with overall positive reviews.

A large crowd filed into the venue to see Humberstone. Some fans at the barricade even mentioned they had been waiting outside for hours before the doors were opened. Starting off the night was the incredible singer-songwriter Carol Ades, who has opened for icons such as Lizzy McAlpine, The Aces, and Suki Waterhouse. Ades was perceived very well by the crowd, all of whom danced the night away with her all throughout her set.

Once it was time for Holly to begin, the lights dimmed and the crowd began to cheer. She powered through a 90-minute set, never missing a note. Her setlist included songs from Paint My Bedroom Black, such as “Antichrist” and “Into Your Room,” as well as some of her past projects. Her song, “Kissing in Swimming Pools,” was met with astonishment from the audience as she performed a stripped down version with an acoustic guitar and raspy vocals. Humberstone ended the night with a two-song encore of “Friendly Fire” and “Scarlett.”
