Australian folk band Dope Lemon performed at The Van Buren in Phoenix, Arizona on the 12th of October. The band’s frontman and creative lead, Angus Stone, is widely known as half of popular indie-folk band Angus and Julia Stone. He blends folk, rock, and soul styles to create an easygoing, sun-drenched soundscape, like swimming in a cool river on a hot day.
Highlights from the performance in Phoenix include their performance of “Marinade,” a hypnotic and reflective tune delivered half-sung and half-spoken, and “Rose Pink Cadillac,” an upbeat soul-folk song that makes you feel as enchanted with his new lover as he is. Dope Lemon’s tour continues this year in the Pacific Northwest, Canada, and a few dates on the East Coast.
