Chiiild took the stage in the heart of Dallas, Texas at the House of Blues and filled the room with his angelic voice. The show was just one of many on his Better Luck In The Next Life Tour, which is in support of his 3rd full-length album, Better Luck In The Next Life. The album was released just a week prior to the show, and is as soulful as it can get. It shows Chiiild returning to his roots while simultaneously branching out creatively more than ever. If you’re a fan of Steve Lacy or Frank Ocean, Chiiild will fit in perfectly on your playlists. Songs like “Antidote” feature a bit more of an upbeat, poppier tune, while “Surfing The Silver Linings” is a bit darker with vivid imagery.
Starting off the night, supporting act Isaia Huron gave the crowd an impactful performance as he engaged with them throughout his set. The crowd waited in anticipation for Chiiild to take the stage, and when he finally did, his set design and production was something to behold. The warm lights gave a comforting atmosphere as he performed fan favorite “Bon Voyage” from the new album, along with a handful of older songs. The crowd joined in to sing with him throughout the entire night.
