Caroline Romano: supporting Smallpools

El Rey Theatre (Los Angeles, CA)
05/02/24

On May 2nd, alt-pop artist Caroline Romano hit the El Rey Theatre stage in Los Angeles, California while opening for Smallpools & Grayscale on their “Night Shift” tour. Romano released her highly anticipated debut album, Oddities and Prodigies, followed by an E.P. in 2023, A Brief Epic. As she entered the stage, her high energy stage presence was infectious, making the crowd want to nod their heads and dance along to her set. Her setlist pulled from multiple projects, including unreleased tracks. My personal favorite song of hers, “girl in the china shop,” was met with cheers from the crowd as they interacted with the singer. Romano closed her set with slower paced “This House,” one of her more popular songs.

At just 22 years old, Romano is already making a splash in the industry, combining her honest songwriting with upbeat bops and ballads. If you get a chance to see her perform live, I urge you to take it!
