Bayside: Just Like Home

Bayside

Granada Theater (Dallas, TX)
02/11/23

The intimate Granada Theatre in the heart of Dallas, Texas was packed when punk rockers Bayside brought their Just Like Home Tour to the city. The tour started out in Houston, Texas just the night prior, and is heading all over North America until mid-March.

Starting out the show was rising melodic hardcore band Koyo, followed by angsty punk band I Am The Avalanche. The two of these bands supporting Bayside is every punk music lover’s dream, and they made sure to get the crowd pumped for the headliners.

Forming over 20 years ago, Bayside is no stranger to the stage. The band consists of vocalist Anthony Raneri, guitarists Jack O’Shea and Nick Ghanbarian, and drummer Chris Guglielmo. The members all interacted with each other throughout the set, along with interacting with the crowd. The set started out with a handful of songs from older releases, including tracks from their 2011 album, Killing Time. Released just a week prior to the show was “How To Ruin Everything (Patience)” which features metalcore band Ice Nine Kills. It was no surprise that the crowd knew all of the words to the song already! The new hit will be on the band’s forthcoming E.P., The Blue EP, being released March 17th. The energy was electric and you could feel the joy of all of the attendees in the crowd.

Toward the end of the set, Bayside performed an incredible cover of “Megan” by the iconic rock band Smoking Popes. For their final song, the band surprised the crowd with an encore of fan favorite “Devotion and Desire” from their 2005 self-titled album. Bayside puts on a show that you don’t want to miss – be sure to listen to their upcoming E.P. and follow along to see what they are up to next!
