Against The Current: Nightmares & Daydreams

Rams Head Live! (Baltimore, MD)
05/15/23

Pop-punk band Against The Current performed in Baltimore, Maryland at Rams Head Live! on their “Nightmares & Daydreams” tour. Even being the second to last date of the tour, the band did not give any less of a performance than expected. Typically touring in the colder seasons, the spring shows brought a new vitality to the band in their performance.

Playing an incredible mix of all of their releases, the “Nightmares & Daydreams” tour was perfect for any fan of ATC, no matter when they started listening to the band. “Infinity” and “Another You (Another Way)” from their first ever E.P., Infinity, released in 2014 when they were just 18, were both incredible to hear live. They also had a back to back throwback to their first full-length album, In Our Bones, performing “Running with the Wild Things” and “Blood Like Gasoline.” They even treated the crowd to “Legends Never Die,” which the band sang for video game League of Legends and notably sung at the World Championship in 2017.

The lighting and atmosphere of the show was stunning and enhanced the experience of the songs. The band has an incredible stage presence, particularly lead singer Chrissy Costanza doing a complete backbend while hitting a high note. The crowd certainly enjoyed their experience with frequent crowd surfing and moshing. I’ve previously seen Against The Current on Vans Warped Tour in 2016 and while opening for fellow pop-punk band State Champs in 2017. It’s incredible to see a band grow and blossom into this head-lining, hype-bringing, world-tour-trekking band. A new album is coming soon, and I’m excited to see what this band does next.
