Royal & The Serpent

Ryan Santiago, who you may know better as Royal & The Serpent, performed an angsty set in front of a full house at the historic Troubadour venue in West Hollywood, CA. It’s been quite the year for Royal - she just performed at the iconic When We Were Young festival, finished up a North American tour supporting Demi Lovato, and released her brand new E.P., Happiness Is An Inside Job. The crowd was packed with adoring fans of all ages chattering with excitement, ready to celebrate the E.P.’s release.

The openers, BUZZ and Paris Jackson, pumped up the crowd for the set that was to come. When the time finally came, Santiago’s band members emerged for the first song wearing rat masks. Front row viewers were able to interact directly with Royal as she sang her way through hit songs including “Love Abuser (Save Me).” One of the more impactful moments of the night was right before playing “GO F*CK URSELF” when Royal asked her audience to raise their hand, promising to never drink and drive. The size of the Troubadour allowed Royal to play to the full effects of her music, while simultaneously maintaining an intimate and memorable setting for fans.
