We are excited to feature our interview with Elohim, an L.A. based artist you must know about if you don’t already. With her release, “Fuck Your Money”, Elohim has allowed us to enjoy her interpretation by bringing her brain to life in her video. Her most recent release, “Panic Attacks”, is a beautiful vocal and writing collaboration with Yoshi Flower. Check it out here! She is also hitting the road (tour dates listed below).

The music video for your newest single, “Fuck Your Money”, has recently been released. Congratulations! What inspired the idea behind the video?

“This video is a trip through my brain and what it feels like to be bound by societal norms. It was inspired by a surreal perspective of my battles with both mental and physical health. I created a world that allowed me to speak on those topics without the restraint of reality. My creative director Chase O’Black and I wrote this story together, and our team of brilliant creatives helped build and bring the world to life.”

And how does it feel now that your music video is out in the public?

“It feels truly incredible to release art into the universe that has the ability to bring comfort and light to other humans’ lives. The connection I’ve had because of the internet has been remarkable. I have made some really wonderful friends. Bringing joy and peace to others while talking about real, honest topics is what I live forthat is why I create.”

We noticed a lot of white flowers and ladybugs in your video. What do they mean to you?

“The daisies represent love. Whatever your circumstance is you can find love through the tiniest crack, you just have to be open, accepting, and ready to welcome it. The ladybugs are a symbol of life and not being alone, no matter how alone you may feel inside your head or in your life.”

Tour is coming up! (Dates can be found below or here!) What is your favorite part about touring?

“When you have an amazing crew and are surrounded by friends, the entire experience is a lot of fun. Being on stage is by far the best part, though. The traveling (flying and driving from hotel to hotel) can be very exhausting, but what keeps me going are those moments on stage. The light reflecting off of the eyes in the crowd. It is beautiful!”

Do you have any special rituals that you do before you go on stage?

“I really just go into my own world and find peace and gratitude. I remind myself why I am  doing this and I just wish to give people a magical experience full of love.”

Aside from your tour, you are playing at major music festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Electric Forest. Which are you most excited for and why?

“It feels surreal to be playing Coachella, so I am pretty excited for that one. I honestly can’t help but smile when I think about it. I am also really looking forward to Bonnaroo and I’ve heard the Electric Forest journey is like nothing else. They all sound like unique, gorgeous experiences.”

Your new music is coming out in 2018! What are some differences between your self-titled debut E.P. released back in early 2016 and your upcoming debut album?

“I have grown so much since I made that E.P. I have grown so much in the last few months even. As an artistic human, I am forever and always evolving, and I seek to be the best, most healthy (mentally and physically) version of myself. I was able to go deeper with this album. It feels like the beginning of something really special.”

What inspired your new music?

“I am heavily inspired by my own personal struggles. I put lyrics in my songs that I hope someone can connect to on another level of self discovery. Life is complex, sometimes too complex for me to even think about, but that is when I turn to songwriting. I am very thankful to have the ability to put all of my weird thoughts into sounds.”

Is there anything you would like to share with anyone who looks up to you and/or your music?

“I would like to say you are so valued and loved. I hope that peace and joy surrounds you. You are an incredible human and the world is blessed to have you and your gifts.”

Elohim’s debut full length record will be out in the universe on April 27th! Pre-order now!
